Guides for Moksha, the C++ game engine: how to write, build and ship a game with it.

Moksha is in early development, so expect the API to change. New here? Start with Getting started. The engine’s headers open with short contract comments, and there is no generated API reference yet.

  • Getting started: Create a game in its own repository and build it against the engine.
  • Core concepts: The rules, lifecycle and traps every Moksha game needs to know.
  • Cookbook: Copyable recipes, one per engine system. Class and member names are placeholders.
  • Building and platforms: Supported targets, how to build the engine, and its CMake options.
  • Web builds: Compile a game to WebAssembly with Emscripten and host it as a page.
  • Tools: The asset cook, the content server and the module dependency check.
  • Servers and networking: Run a game server and send messages between clients and server. Native platforms only.
  • Known issues: What's currently rough or unfinished in the engine.
